Prarthana Prakash, MD, is a neurologist in the Movement Disorders Program at Rhode Island Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she specializes in Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders.

Dr. Prakash earned her MBBS medical degree at the SS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Davangere, India, and served a residency in neurology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dr. Prakash completed a fellowship in movement disorders at the Weill Institute for Neurosciences at the University of California, San Francisco, School of Medicine.

Among her honors and awards is a fellowship scholarship from the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society Pan American Section.

Dr. Prakash is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.
